Most of the London airports have connectivity with the tube, and it is one of the most convenient ways of travelling if you can handle your luggage alone or only have limited luggage. Tickets for tube can be bought from airport or tube station or online @ https://tfl.gov.uk/

  • The zone: London tube is divided into different zones (1 to 9), and prices for the journey are decided based on the zones you cross to travel. For example, if you are travelling from zone 1 to 3, you will be charged for fare accordingly

  • Travel cards: Travel cards are the same as the ticket (printed cards), which you can use for your journey and entry and exit gates of stations. There are different types of travel cards:

    • Anytime day: can be used anytime during the day.

    • Off-peak day cards: Can only be used during off-peak hours, as mentioned above.

  • Oyster card: Oyster card is similar to a top-up card that you can load with the required amount and use for your journey. The amount will be automatically deducted based on the entry and exit records captured during the station's entry and exit gates. Additional details can be found @ Oyster online - Transport for London - Oyster cards (tfl.gov.uk)
